Kapsimotwa Garden is a beautiful gem hidden in the highland area in Nandi Hills. It is one of the places to visit In Nandi Hills. It is made up of a beautiful garden, an expansive tea estate but mostly the remarkable well- manicured garden.
The gardens are large and beautiful. The keepers of the Kapsimotwa Garden really know how to do their job. The entrance to the garden is breathtaking and the flower gardens are well manicured.
The landscape is pretty remarkable and the view is spectacular. Anyone who has been there can tell you that any spot can make a good photo background. Yes, it is the best place in Nandi Hills for a photo session.
The Garden is scenic and peaceful. One can stroll around the garden’s pathway without getting bored but enjoying the view. If you want a quiet place to write a book or some quiet time, definitely this is the best place for you.
The garden is of different shades and aura. It is believed to have more than 100 flower species and exotic and indigenous trees.
The garden also has man-made ponds, streams and a large lake in the middle of it.
The garden serves as a beautiful spot for weddings, retreats, camps, parties and picnics. You can either to carry your own food or cook it there.
One of the structures inside the garden that I really loved was the one-story thatched structure overseeing the lake.
After a couple hours in the garden, we took a hike to the hills through the vast tea plantation in Kapsimotwa Farm. It was my first time seeing purple tea leaves. I bet you have not yet too.
Once on top of the hills, you might see the neighboring counties—Kisumu county, Kericho County and Kisii County.
In fact, you will see Awasi, a town that borders Kisumu county and Kericho County.

What you need to know
Kapsimotwa Garden is found at the highland areas of Nandi Hills. It is about 60km from Eldoret town and about 10km from Nandi Hills town. Once in Nandi Hills Town head to the tea plantations using a rough road.
Kapsimotwa Garden is part of the Kapsimotwa Farm. It was started in the 1930s by a British Settler known as Bushwell to benefit other white settlers. It is believed to have more than 100 flower and plant species.
Entrance fee per vehicle is around Ksh500 and per individual around Ksh50. They also have accommodation which they charge around Ksh3000 per night.
