Congrats, you are now a Bridesmaid

Welcome to the chaos!!!

Have you been asked to be a bridesmaid? Is it your first time to be a bridesmaid? Congrats. A bridesmaid is a member of the bridal party in a wedding. It is a great honor to stand by your close friend or relative on her/his important and biggest day of her/his life.

Here is what you signed for-

Show a bit of positivism

Do everything you can to maintain a positive attitude throughout the planning to the actual event. You might not agree with everything the bride wants or say but it will be her day make a feel good.

It isn’t about you

The wedding has nothing to do with from every decision made apart from you being a bridesmaid. When the bride asks you to do something like helping out – do it if possible. She might say wearing heels in a rocky place or uneven ground just do it. Don’t ruin her prestigious day by not cooperating after all it’s only for a few hours of the day. Sometimes you may be dealing with a bridezilla and your opinion won’t matter.

Show support

Support! Support! Support! Does she need to go shopping for wedding items? Go with her! Does she need someone to help in the cake tasting! Go with her! Is she going for dress fitting? Take her! Vendor vetting? Help her! Support her decision be her support system. Being a bride is stressful and a lot of energy is spent in the wedding preparation.

Bonding

Don’t be a lone ranger. Mingle with the other girls. They are your partners in crime, hitting the dance floor, to chill with make sure to bond with them—the bride might be busy with the guest the groom and the party.

The Best Part

Apart from dealing with bride and her demands, these is my favorite part:

Freebies- High table setting. Free food and beverages.

Girl time- Opportunity to chill with all your main girls.

Professional make-up and styling.

Professional photo shoots

Serving cake- You can’t miss the cake since you are serving.

Bridesmaid duties

A bridesmaid got duties apart from standing beautiful alongside the bride.

Purchasing your own dress and shoes.

Pay for your own styling, hair and nails.

Help with the dress fitting of the bride.

Help with whatever is needed during the wedding and reception.

Ushering.

Helping recording all the gifts.

Ckenna’s tips

It is okay to say no when you are asked to be one.

It sometimes get messy. Planning and dealing with other bridesmaids can get little stressful.

Ps This is to all the bridesmaid to be, being a bridesmaid is expensive but also being a woman.

Happiness and Light,

Ckenna.
